This happened a couple of years, but it's worth sharing.
Leo, a small Jack Russell dog crosses, defied a fire to save the lives of four newborn kittens.
In Melbourne, Australia, the house of a family of four, suddenly burst into flames. Mother, 3 children and one of his dogs got out in time, but the kids started yelling at the firemen who were even more animals inside the house, so when they came, they saw Leo on top of a cardboard box half suffocated, and did not want to leave home.
Firefighters pulled him out immediately, and discovered that inside the box had 4 kittens (mother cat had fled), unscathed thanks to Leo and box.
the heroic Leo had to quickly put him oxygen and heart massage because he had inhaled too much smoke, but soon recovered and the first he did was to check if the kittens were fine, and fill to lick:)
The fire department has proposed to give Leo, who has been nicknamed Smoky (Smokey) a medal of honor for his great courage.
